About

Dr. Kimberly Yee is the first board certified female Colorectal surgeon to practice in Westchester County, and she has pioneered several new technologies in the management of colorectal disease at White Plains Hospital. She performed the first transanal endoscopic microsurgical removal of a colon polyp at the Hospital and also has established a new anorectal physiology lab, one of the few such facilities in Westchester County.

She received her medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center and completed both her Residency in General Surgery and Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She then completed a second Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Yee has taken an active role in resident and medical student education and has been involved in supporting the role of house staff in the delivery of healthcare, establishing the Washington Hospital Center mentorship program and organizing Surgical Morbidity & Mortality Conferences. During her Fellowship at Baylor, she continued teaching and created the course Introduction to Minimal Access Surgery, which served as the foundation for additional future instruction for house staff and Fellows in Minimally Invasive Surgery. Dr. Yee has brought this expertise to her practice at White Plains Hospital.
