Neurosurgery

Neurosurgeons are involved with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of various disorders affecting the brain, spine and nervous system, including those that impact the flow of blood to the brain.

Our board-certified neurosurgery team is dedicated to providing exceptional care, treating  the most complex disorders and diseases. Led by Director of Neurosurgery Dr. Kaushik Das, and by Director of Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery Dr. Virany Hillard, the team uses minimally invasive techniques to address complex spinal and craniovertebral disorders.

The White Plains Hospital Physician Associates Neurosurgery team addresses, diagnoses and treats a variety of  conditions (see sidebar).  Among the services offered are laminectomies – a surgical technique that removes bone spurs and tissues associated with arthritis of the spine – and microdiscectomies, a surgery that is used to relieve pain and other symptoms resulting from a herniated disc in the spine pressing on an adjacent nerve root.
