Pain Management

Pain can arise for many reasons. Every case is unique and may require multiple therapies to treat.

The Pain Management specialists at White Plains Hospital use a number of strategies to diagnose and treat pain through a combination of medication, procedures and rehabilitation. Conditions we treat include, but are not limited to, fibromyalgia, arthritis, sciatica, neuropathic and postoperative pain, and cancer pain. Please note that our physicians do not see patients for ongoing pain medicine management.

Our Pain Management team excels at treating all types of pain, and offers the latest treatments and therapies, often via minimally invasive procedures. These include a fluoroscopic spinal injection, which is a minimally invasive procedure for those suffering from severe arm, leg, neck, or back pain.

Another treatment is regenerative medicine, a process used to repair a variety of injuries by using the patient’s own cells to repair damaged tissue without surgery. A Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment involves taking a sample of the patient’s blood and spinning it in a machine called a centrifuge in order to isolate the platelets, the element of blood that is critical for clotting.

In addition, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound technology uses a small probe, covered with gel, to translate sound waves from a patient’s soft tissue and bone into real-time images. This means your doctor can “see” your tendons, muscles, nerves, or bones in a more precise manner than before — and get a clear picture of exactly what is causing you pain.
