White Plains, N.Y. (September 1, 2017) – White Plains Hospital welcomes Dr. Fulvia Milite, who specializes in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, as the new Director of the Sleep Center. Dr. Milite received her medical degree and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the Albert Einstein Medical College, Bronx, NY.  She then pursued specialty training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Milite completed her fellowship in Sleep Medicine at St Luke’s Roosevelt Medical Center in Manhattan.

Her specific clinical and research interests include sleep disordered breathing and the cardiovascular consequences of sleep disordered breathing.

The Sleep Center at White Plains Hospital specializes in adult and pediatric sleep disorders, including sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep and can be a serious and potentially life-threatening condition. Sleep apnea is largely undiagnosed, with only 10% of people with the condition being treated.

The Sleep Center at White Plains Hospital provides overnight studies to test for sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. It offers state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, comfortable private rooms, a caring and credentialed staff, and complimentary continental breakfast and parking. The Center also offers special diagnostic testing facilities for children, who may also suffer from sleep apnea.

As Director of the Sleep Center, Dr. Milite will be responsible for the sleep program that provides diagnostic and therapeutic care. Dr. Milite will conduct outpatient sessions in New Rochelle.
