White Plains Hospital welcomes the Hematology-Oncology practice of  Dr. Elizabeth Phillips and Dr. Bernard Bernhardt (formerly Advanced Oncology Associates) as part of White Plains Hospital Physician Associates (WPHPA), a division of White Plains Hospital and an affiliated member of the Montefiore Health System. Their practice will be known as WPHPA Hematology & Oncology.

Dr. Bernhardt received his medical degree from Northwestern University – Feinberg School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He served his residency at the District of Columbia General Hospital, New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital Center and Montefiore Medical Center.

Dr. Phillips received her medical degree from the University of Washington School Of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. She was a resident at Harlem Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center, and served her fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

As members of WPHPA, Drs. Bernhardt and Phillips remain committed to delivering the same high level of care and expertise that their patients have come to expect.  White Plains Hospital has a longstanding reputation as a leader in the community for providing advanced, personalized healthcare and they are pleased to be aligning with them in a more official capacity.

As part of this affiliation, all patients will now receive chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy infusions in the state-of-the-art Lowenthal Infusion Center at the White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care, a sophisticated and comfortable new facility centrally located at 2 Longview Avenue in White Plains, only 20 minutes from their offices.  Dr. Phillips and Dr. Bernhardt will continue to closely monitor their patients’ progress throughout their course of treatment and communicate with the onsite clinical staff in the Lowenthal Infusion Center.

In addition to exceptional clinical care, the White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care also provides a broad range of supportive services and amenities including nutrition counseling; social work; financial counseling; support groups and educational workshops; caregiver resources; and a wide range of integrative services such as yoga, acupuncture, and massage.
