Surgeon Rafik El Sabrout, M.D Joins White Plains Hospital

Accomplished Surgeon with Transplant Expertise Joins the Hospital’s Physician Associates Division

White Plains, NY (August 15, 2013) – White Plains Hospital has welcomed general surgeon Rafik El Sabrout, M.D. to its group of integrated physician practices. Dr. El Sabrout has joined White Plains Hospital Physician Associates Surgical Specialists, a division of the hospital aligning physicians with Hospital services.

Dr. El Sabrout received his medical degree with honors from the Cairo University Medical School in Cairo, Egypt, where he also completed a Ph.D. in surgery. He then completed fellowship training at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, United Kingdom, followed by additional fellowship training in immunology and organ transplantation at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston.

Dr. El Sabrout is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He has served as the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on numerous clinical studies, and his research has been published in a multitude of scholarly publications. Dr. El Sabrout has routinely presented his work at regional, national and international conferences over the past fifteen years.

He was most recently an attending surgeon and associate professor of surgery at the New York Medical College, where he also served as the Director of both the Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation Programs.
