Robert S. Reiffel, MD Joins White Plains Hospital Physicians Associates; First Plastic Surgery Practice in Hospital’s Ambulatory Physician Division

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (July 11, 2016) – White Plains Hospital welcomes plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Robert S. Reiffel, MD to its White Plains Hospital Physician Associates division. Dr. Reiffel has a long and distinguished career with the Hospital where he has been an attending physician since 1980.

He is recognized for his expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and surgery of the hand. The recipient of numerous national and regional awards for excellence, Dr. Reiffel is well-known for his frequent inclusion in the Castle-Connolly Best Doctors list. He has recently been honored by Health Grades as being ranked in the top 10% of physicians nationally in patient satisfaction.

Dr. Reiffel is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery and achieved a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. He is a graduate of Yale University and received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his general surgery internship and residency at The Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, followed by a residency in plastic surgery and a fellowship in hand surgery at New York University Medical Center.

Dr. Reiffel has authored many journal articles and chapters in plastic surgery textbooks. In addition to his current post, he is Past President of the Medical and Dental Staff of White Plains Hospital and Chief Emeritus of the Section of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds memberships in many national and local professional organizations including the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Burn Association.
