Family Medicine Physician Samir Sidani, M.D. Joins White Plains Hospital

First Larchmont Practitioner Joins WPH Physician Associates

White Plains, NY (January 2, 2013) – Samir Sidani, M.D. has joined White Plains Hospital Physician Associates, a recently formed division of the Hospital aligning local physicians and ambulatory care with inpatient hospital services. His practice, White Plains Hospital Physician Associates Family Medicine, will remain at its current location, on Palmer Avenue in the village of Larchmont.

Dr. Sidani, a longtime Family Medicine practitioner in Larchmont, received his medical degree and residency training in Family Medicine from American University of Beirut Medical Center in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed an additional residency in Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and he is board-certified in Family Medicine.

He has served the primary care needs of patients throughout the world for thirty years and those of the Sound Shore community for more than a decade. Early in his career, Dr. Sidani played an integral role in establishing the Arab Board of Family Medicine and in launching Family Medicine training programs throughout the Middle East. He later served as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, and he has been affiliated with White Plains Hospital for the past two years. He is fluent in Arabic and French.

Family medicine physicians, also called primary care physicians, are specifically trained for and skilled in comprehensive initial disease management, as well as ongoing routine and follow-up care for individuals of both genders and all ages. They provide care for uncomplicated conditions and frequently collaborate with other health professionals utilizing consultation with specialists and referral as the situation warrants.
