Accomplished Physician is First Endocrinologist to Join White Plains Hospital Physician Associates

Fellowship-Trained Rebecca Fenichel, M.D. Joins the White Plains Hospital Family

White Plains, NY (October 30, 2013) – Rebecca Fenichel, M.D., a highly accomplished endocrinologist, has joined White Plains Hospital Physician Associates, a division of the hospital aligning local physicians with hospital services, as of October 2, 2013.  She will be practicing out of the hospital’s new space at 1296 North Avenue in New Rochelle.

Dr. Fenichel graduated from Yale University in 1996.  She received her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the NewYork/Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center.  After completing a fellowship in endocrinology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2006, Dr. Fenichel was a Women’s Health Scholar at the Center for Menopause, Hormonal Disorders and Women’s Health at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she also served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. She then joined the endocrinology faculty at NYU, where she practiced for six years.

Dr. Fenichel treats patients with a variety of endocrine disorders, with particular expertise in the treatment of thyroid disease (including thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer) and hormonal disorders affecting women (including polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), menopause, infertility and hormone imbalances during pregnancy). She also has extensive clinical experience treating diabetes, pituitary and calcium disorders, and metabolic bone disease.  She is board-certified in Internal Medicine as well as Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and is certified to perform in-office thyroid ultrasounds and biopsies by the American Institute for Ultrasound Medicine.
