Sara Sadan, MD
Biography
Sara Sadan, M.D. is the Director for Breast and Women’s Cancers at White Plains Hospital. Dr. Sadan received her medical degree from the Hebrew University, Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel in 1984. Dr. Sadan spent four years at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in basic and clinical research and in clinical trials and subsequently did her fellowship in oncology and hematology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Dr. Sadan is board certified in Medical Oncology. Her professional expertise and interests are broad and include: Breast cancer, gynecologic cancers (including ovarian, cervical and uterine), gastric, colon, and lung cancers, B and T-cell lymphomas, and general oncology and hematology. Dr. Sadan has developed interest and expertise in genetic disorders and has over 20 yrs experience identifying familial predisposition to different cancers, specializing in breast and gynecologic. She is fluent in Hebrew.
Dr. Sadan is the founder of Oncology and Hematology of White Plains, a practice known throughout White Plains and surrounding communities for tailoring treatment to best meet the patient’s needs. Since its inception, the practice has gained a reputation of providing state-of-the-art treatment that is specific to the patient’s individual presentation based on molecular and genetic analysis. Dr. Sadan works closely with a multidisciplinary team and always insists on providing the most personalized treatment plans which include chemotherapy, targeted therapies as well as immune-therapies. In 2013 this practice became an integral part of White Plains Hospital Physician Associates and White Plains Center for Cancer Care where they continue to advocate for patient quality of life and cure options.
Dr. Sadan is also a key member of White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care’s research team and offers appropriate patients clinical trials in all disease categories. Participation in these clinical trials is driven by several factors including the cancer type, the patient’s needs and their interests. In addition, the alliance between White Plains Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center allows us to utilize and collaborate with the scientific and academic resources at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Sadan has been nominated by her peers, and has been the recipient of the Castle Connelly Top Doctor Award for over 17 years.
