Biography

Dr. Arvind Badhey is the Director of Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at White Plains Hospital, specializing in the surgical and medical management of conditions of the head and neck.

Dr. Badhey earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine after being awarded the service and research scholarship as an undergraduate. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at the Icahn School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. Dr. Badhey then went on to complete his fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Dr. Badhey is highly adept in surgical management of complex head and neck cancers and in turn microvascular reconstruction of these defects. He has a strong interest in functional reconstruction of head and neck cancer defects, ranging from complex bony reconstructions to cutaneous free flap reconstructions. Dr. Badhey continues to practice both Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) and Transoral Laser Microsurgery (TLM) for management of oropharynx cancers.

Dr. Badhey’s practice focuses on the care of patients with benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. This includes cancers of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, paranasal sinuses, endocrine tumors (parathyroid/thyroid glands), major and minor salivary glands, and cutaneous malignancies such as melanoma and Merkel cell. Dr. Badhey’s expertise also extends to open and endoscopic approaches to skull base tumors.

Dr. Badhey’s philosophy of care focuses on treating patients as individuals while still empowering them with the evidence-based data to help make informed decisions.

Prior to joining White Plains Hospital, Dr. Badhey was an attending surgeon and associate program director of surgical oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery at the University of Massachusetts’ Chan Medical School.
