Dr. C. Ranjan Nath is a board-certified endocrinologist with more than three decades of experience in the diagnosis and management of endocrine disorders, including diabetes, obesity, lipid disorders, and cardiometabolic disease. He has particular expertise in cardiovascular risk reduction and comprehensive metabolic care and is widely recognized as a key opinion leader in the field of diabetes and metabolism. He is a recipient of the American Diabetes Association Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dr. Nath earned his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College of India. He completed his postgraduate training at The Royal College of Physicians of London and went on to complete his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Nath also served as a Clinical Scholar at The Rockefeller University, where he co-led the Lipid Clinic under the mentorship of Professor Jan Breslow, MD, former President of the American Heart Association.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Nath has held multiple senior healthcare leadership posts. He previously led Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital’s Endocrine practice, overseeing multiple offices across Westchester County and Manhattan. He later founded the Diabetes & Metabolism Center at Phelps Hospital, Northwell Health, where he served as Founding Medical Director and Chief of Endocrinology for more than a decade, building one of the region’s largest centers for patients with diabetes.
Dr. Nath has published peer-reviewed research in lipid metabolism, hypertension, as well as diabetes, and remains actively involved in medical education – mentoring students, residents, and physicians. In recognition of his contributions to medicine and the community, Westchester County established “Dr. Nath Day,” observed annually on June 19.
