White Plains, N.Y. (August 1, 2017) – White Plains Hospital welcomes Sasan Roayaie, MD, to its Physician Associates Division. Dr. Roayaie brings unique surgical skills to provide individualized care for patients needing complex liver, bile duct and pancreas resections. He has extensive experience in transplant surgery and with the treatment of primary liver cancers such as hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma, benign tumors such as adenoma, focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH), and hemangiomas as well as liver metastases from colorectal, neuroendocrine and other cancers.
Dr. Roayaie’s expertise also extends to the treatment of bile duct and pancreatic cancers. He has been a leader in the development of minimally invasive hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. Dr. Roayaie not only performs any needed operations, but also works together with a multidisciplinary team including interventional radiology, radiation oncology, gastroenterology and oncology to devise an entire treatment program for patients who are not eligible for surgery.
Dr. Roayaie received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He has completed a fellowship in Multi-organ Abdominal Transplantation at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Roayaie has published extensively in the field of liver cancer and is frequently invited internationally to lecture and demonstrate his techniques for liver resection. He is also very active in volunteer missions to improve the standard of surgical care in countries such as Liberia, Haiti, and Mongolia.
Dr. Roayaie speaks English, Spanish, and Farsi.
